Background

Past Information Co Ltd was created in December 2003 by Kate White and Colin Howard to provide a resource for tracing and managing old email and phone numbers. After two years of development, www.pastmail.com and www.pastnumber.com were released in December 2005.

Since then Past Information continue to provide greater functionality to benefit their existing and prospective clients and www.pastmagazines has been added. This allows clients to publish or sell their digital online magazines.

People

Kate White – Managing Director

Kate has worked in IT for the last 15 years and has followed the usual career path gaining skills in coding, designing and managing software projects. Many of these years were spent with IBM and she was fortunate enough to do a fair bit of traveling. She met Colin in 2003 and between them they set up Past Information prompted in part by her own email change of address after leaving IBM to start her own company. She could not be certain that casual acquaintances would be able to find her and so wanted a site in place that would make it possible for individuals to track her down using only her old email address.

Colin has spent a lifetime creating leading edge visionary businesses, ranging from the invention and development of data capture from electronic petrol pumps through to starting the first electronic stockbrokers, with digitising “the City” in between. In recent years his focus has been on exchange technology, founding the commodities exchange Comdaq, and being the technical architect behind the “Microexchanges” created by the Alternative Electronic Stock Exchange. He is semi – retired now but has been working on Past Information from concept.
